NBA Moments That Live in My Head Rent Free
Charlie A.
Hi, I’m Charlie! (@ogallanoby) and welcome to TopShot moments that live rent free in my head!
I had the idea to start posting Top Shot moments on X because I wanted to go back to my roots and talk more about the first NFT collection I ever bought in to. I’m a Golden State Warriors fan from the UK and first fell in love with the game after visiting California in 2019 and getting tickets to the WCF game 5 at the Oracle arena. If you have a good memory, you’ll know Warriors swept Portland 4-0, so game 5 didn’t happen which I was gutted about.
From there, I started avidly following the Warriors and my love of the sport and team grew. In 2022, I went back to San Francisco to watch two games versus the Knicks & the Lakers - my itch was scratched. I will never forget the memories!
I got into TopShot when I was at a friend’s house watching UFC 257 and he told me about these digital basketball collectibles, from there I was sucked in down the rabbit hole of NFT’s and web3! Fun fact - I have a tattoo in tribute to TopShot. The NBA logo with the serial number of the first moment I purchased (Eric Paschall dunk). You may think ‘why Paschall?’ …and it’s because he was drafted shortly after I started following the Warriors, so I have the strong connection between him and Jordan Poole as my first rookies!
The following are 5 moments on NBA Top Shot that live in my head rent free:

OG Anunoby: The Block & Finish
The Englishman in New York, my fellow Brit and the man that inspired my TopShot username.
This moment lives in my head rent free because it sums up OG's game - pure hustle and grit.
He holds strong to block Jokic, chases down the loose ball and runs it down the floor to shrug a hug off Braun and finishes. It was also a career best game for OG with 40 points!
Klay Thompson: The Comeback Cram
This moment lives in my head rent free because after 941 days away from the court with 2 devastating injuries (ACL & Achilles), Klay was back for his first game in the Bay, and oh boy was he back with a BANG!
Far from his bread and butter of a catch-and-shoot three, he drove past his man to finish with a one handed jam between the two defenders. To rise up high after tearing his achilles in his first game back just shows the man he is.
Jaylen Brown: The Gobert Poster
This moment lives in my head rent free because anyone that puts Rudy on a poster and sends him crashing down is always an enjoyable watch!
It's a great play from Brown, whose pump fake sold KAT to allow him to bypass and drive into the paint. Brown then sprung up to slam one down on Gobert!
LaMelo Ball: The Spin Cycle Reverse
This moment lives in my head rent free because, well, its Lamelo. The boy is a box of tricks who balls like he's playing pick up with his mates, trying the most outlandish of things. All his moments are just great! In such a high pressure environment he plays with no fear and a swagger.
The spin move to get away from his man - running downhill towards the basket with an excellent scoop reverse layup. He's the definition of a Cool Cat.
Facundo Campazzo: The No-Look Dish
This moment lives in my head rent free because he's got that South American swagger that the league doesn't have a lot of! He's the king of the tricky flash assists whether it's a no-look or behind the head pass like in this moment here. He reminds me of the great Cesc Fabregas (soccer legend), he sees passes no one else sees.
6 of his 7 Top Shot moments are assists and they are all great watches!
Charlie has a background in plumbing & construction and is a big lover of NFT's, WEB3 and crypto! He bought his first cryptocurrency in 2017 (Litecoin) and left it until a friend told him about NBA TopShot in January 2021, which sent him into the NFT stratosphere. A few months later he got his hands on a Bored Ape for .69 ETH and still has it to this day.
